Your goal is to work to decode the inner clues and unpack the ensuing clues outward, until you can present your final, completed phrase.

In Bracket City, every puzzle is a sentence or phrase in brackets, with multiple layers of nested brackets [],(),{}, and peppered with punctuation (commas and dashes) to guide your logic. Your responsibility is to work through layers and assemble the correct word and/or phrase by following hierarchies of clues built into the brackets.
Start in the Middle (The Brackets)
Every puzzle in Bracket City will expand outwards towards the hundreds. You always want to start in the middle and locate the innermost bracket or the first answer. These clues are the foundation of the puzzle. The first answer will typically contain a synonym, definition, or the start of a phrase.
Use the Punctuation
Pay attention to punctuation marks like commas (,) and dashes (–). These don't only serve to separate answers but are meant to connect clues. A dash might indicate a paraphrase or example, or a comma could separate words with equal meaning.
Think Layer by Layer Outwards
Once you have solved for the core clue, replace that bracket with your answer, and take a step one layer outward and see if the clue that surrounds your recently solved word or phrase. The clue construction is very logical.
Solve the whole puzzle
The full phrase will become evident as you go layer by layer. At any point in the puzzle, you will require a combination of logical thought, vocabulary skills, and puzzle-solving skills to ultimately complete each challenge.
